LEOTA WILL BE TRANSFORMED INTO BETHLEHEM
DRIVE THROUGH AND BRING YOUR CANNED GOODS
The congregation of Bethel Baptist Church of Leota will transform the Leota Crossroads at the Covered Bridge into Bethlehem on Saturday evening, December 12, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. This will be a drive-thru where visitors can see live animals, a marketplace, the townspeople of Bethlehem, shepherds tending their flock, the inn and stable with Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus.
This has become an opportunity for the community to get involved. Hundreds of empty milk jugs have been donated and have been turned into luminaries that will line the roads leading to the crossroads. Additional costumes have been contributed by the Little York Christian Church and local farm animals will take the stage. There is no charge to drive thru this re-enactment, however, those attending are asked to please bring canned goods to fill a hay wagon. These items will be donated to the Scott County Clearinghouse and to the Edna Martin Christian Center.
Load up your cars with your family and donations and head to Leota on 12/12 from 6-9 pm.
