Dear Chamber,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and give you some background of my life experiences. I am a lifelong resident of Scott County; born in Fort Thomas, Kentucky (a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio) my parents moved to Scottsburg when I was three years old.
I graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1994. As many young adults, I was not sure what career path I wanted to follow. Immediately out of High School, I enrolled at Ivy Tech Community College to study engineering technology. Continuing to be undecided on which career path to travel, I attended IU Southeast for a couple of semesters, before returning to Ivy Tech. In the fall of 1998 I was fortunate enough to gain employment at Saegesser Engineering, as an AutoCAD Technician.
I knew after a few months of working a Saegesser Engineering that I finally found the career that I wanted to follow, and in the fall of 2001 I enrolled at the University of Louisville to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. As primarily a part-time student, I continued to work at Saegesser Engineering while attending school.
In the spring of 2006 I received my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and in 2008 I received my Master of Engineering Degree. After completing my internship period after graduation, I successfully past the tests to practice Civil Engineering. I have been licensed as a Professional Engineer since December of 2010.
In 2008, I married my wonderful wife, Jennifer Rowell Spicer of Atlanta, Georgia. Jen and I have a two- year old son, Bradley Kash Spicer. We are eagerly expecting the arrival of our second son this August. Prior to the birth of Kash, Jen was a lifeguard and fitness instructor at the Scott County YMCA. At the present, Jen is a stay at home mom, but she does plan to return to work once our children are in school.
I have been blessed in many ways in my professional and personal life. Perhaps the most important lesson that I have gained with age is that with patience and persistence anything is possible; never take anything for granted and always try to view circumstances from all perspectives prior to Thank you for your time and consideration.
